Has it always been your dream to become a photographer and start your own business? Well, it's more possible now then ever before. With all the technological advances we've seen you can make money with your photos in so many different ways. All you need these days is a camera and a plan and you can become a photographer.

In the old days, back before computers and the Internet, your options were kind of limited. You needed a dark room and a studio, office equipment, a phone line or two, and you had to carry tons of big, bulky, expensive equipment every where you went.

Now, cameras and photography equipment are smaller and lighter in weight. You can conduct most of your business via email. And all you need to edit images is a laptop and some decent software. So you can see, it's much easier to get into the photography business today than it was in the past.

Wedding Photographer: Now that we're mobile and cameras are so much smaller it's easy to photograph a wedding. And as soon as your done you can go home and edit the images on your computer. You can have the album ready for delivery within a day or two, instead of spending weeks in a darkroom.

Portrait Photographer: It's also easier to be a portrait photographer. One of the reasons people always hated family portraits was because they had to make an appointment and go to a studio. But with our smaller equipment and laptops it's a breeze to go anywhere the clients want to meet, get their pictures and move on to the next client.

Glamor Shots: Not interested in weddings or portraits? What about glamor shots? Make arrangements with your local beauty salons and spend 4 hours on a Saturday taking glamor shots for their clients. You could earn some great money just hitting one shop every weekend.

Sell your pictures online: There's a huge need for images to be used online at blogs and websites. Adding images to your blog post makes it more interesting. But not everyone can take a good picture like you can. Set up your own website to sell your images or sell them through online photo sites.

Sell your artwork online: You don't need to be an artist to sell you photos online. Use your favorite photos to create customized products online. For example, take a cute picture of your puppy and put it on a coffee mug or t-shirt or mouse pad. You don't even have to carry any inventory or handle the shipping. All you have to do is take the pictures.

With the Internet and advances in photography technology it's easy enough for anyone to become a photographer and start their own business. All you need is a camera and a little imagination.
